Superworm

Superworm is the wriggliest, squiggliest superhero in the world, blessed with extraordinary length and strength that make him the perfect champion for every creature in need. Whether an animal finds itself in danger or an insect requires assistance, Superworm is there, ready and willing to save the day with his remarkable abilities and selfless spirit. He has become beloved throughout his realm for his unwavering commitment to helping those who call upon him.

Yet even the most formidable heroes face their greatest trials when confronted by forces determined to undo them. When the wicked Wizard Lizard and Crow join forces to capture Superworm, the invincible superhero discovers that his considerable powers may not be enough to secure his own freedom. Imprisoned by these cunning villains, Superworm finds himself in genuine peril, unable to rely upon the very strength that has always seen him through. The question that echoes through his world becomes urgent and uncertain: who possesses the courage and capability to mount a rescue when the mightiest hero of all has fallen into enemy hands?

This timeless tale of heroism, friendship, and unexpected salvation comes from Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, the acclaimed creative partnership behind The Gruffalo and numerous other beloved stories that have captivated generations of children. Their signature blend of rhythmic, engaging storytelling and expressive, colourful illustration brings Superworm's underground world to vivid life. The narrative celebrates themes of community and interdependence, reminding young readers that true strength lies not only in individual capability but in the bonds we forge with one another and the willingness of others to stand beside us when we need them most. Donaldson's characteristic verse sparkles with humour and warmth, whilst Scheffler's illustrations capture both the adventure and heart of this uniquely wriggly superhero's extraordinary adventure.
