More about Dave Pigeon

Dave Pigeon is the pigeon at the centre of Swapna Haddow's Dave Pigeon books, illustrated by Sheena Dempsey. He tells the stories himself, writing them in Pigeonese for other pigeons, and he is full of big ideas that rarely go to plan.

In the first book, How to Deal with Bad Cats and Keep (most of) Your Feathers, Dave and his best friend Skipper are on a croissant heist when a cat attacks them. Dave decides it is time for revenge, and the book is his plan for dealing with Mean Cat.

The books are short, funny chapter books, which makes them a good fit for children starting to read on their own. They also work well as audiobooks: the jokes and Dave's voice come across clearly when read aloud.
