A Letter from Our Founder

Dear Friends of Voxblock,

As we wrap up 2024, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on everything we’ve accomplished together and express my heartfelt gratitude for your dedication and partnership.

Reflecting on 2024:

Looking back on 2024, it’s incredible to see how far we’ve come and how much we’ve achieved as a team. This year, we’ve strengthened our mission of bringing the magic of storytelling to children, making an impact through our work with schools, retailers, and families across the UK.

Our collaborations with schools have been particularly inspiring. By introducing Voxblock to classrooms, we’ve supported literacy initiatives and provided teachers with innovative tools to engage young learners in meaningful and screen-free ways. It’s been rewarding to hear the feedback from educators who see the difference we’re making in fostering a love of stories among their students.

On the retail front, we’ve built strong relationships with independent bookshops, helping them introduce Voxblock to their communities. Our partnerships have been key to our growth, with many retailers restocking repeatedly due to the demand for our products. Additionally, the success of our Black Friday campaign was a standout moment, showcasing the strength of our direct-to-consumer strategy and the growing recognition of our brand.

This year, we also made significant strides in expanding our catalogue. We introduced 60 new audiobook titles and partnered with five new publishers, bringing even more diversity and excitement to our collection. These additions have not only enriched our offering but also strengthened our relationships within the publishing industry, opening doors to future opportunities.

Through all of this, it’s been clear that our shared vision and determination are at the heart of everything we do. Each challenge we’ve faced has made us stronger, and each milestone we’ve achieved has been a reminder of the impact we’re capable of making together.

Our Community: The Heart of Voxblock

As we reflect on 2024 and look ahead to 2025, it’s impossible not to acknowledge our community's vital role in shaping Voxblock’s journey. From parents and teachers to bookshop owners and charity partners, every interaction and piece of feedback has helped us grow, improve, and stay true to our mission.

Our customers have shown incredible enthusiasm and support, embracing Voxblock as a tool for fostering imagination and literacy. Your excitement and encouragement inspire us to keep innovating and delivering products that matter.

We also owe a huge thank you to the educators and schools who have welcomed Voxblock into their classrooms, the retailers who have championed our products on their shelves, and the charity partners who have collaborated with us to bring storytelling to children who need it most.

To all those who have supported and believed in Voxblock, thank you. You are at the heart of everything we do. We can’t wait to continue building this journey with you in 2025.

The Team: Building a Strong Foundation

Our success this year would not have been possible without the incredible contributions of our team. It’s been inspiring to see each person's dedication, talent, and passion to their role, and I’m so proud of how we’ve grown together.

This year, we’ve welcomed some key leadership hires who have strengthened our foundation and positioned us for future growth. Rachel has brought invaluable expertise to Operations, streamlining processes and ensuring our systems can scale with our ambitions. In Commercial, Wis has played a pivotal role in driving growth and forging meaningful partnerships, ensuring Voxblock reaches even more customers and communities.

Our Marketing efforts have been elevated by Steph, whose creativity and strategic thinking have amplified our brand and engaged our audiences in new ways. Meanwhile, Jemima has continued her invaluable work in Operations and Support, ensuring that every detail is handled with care.

It’s also important to acknowledge the incredible groundwork laid by Philippa, whose vital contributions to our early work with schools helped us establish a strong presence in the education sector. Sarah, with her deep experience and wisdom, continues to be a steady source of value, helping guide our strategy and execution with insight and care.

None of this would have been possible without my partner in both life and business, Tom. His unwavering support, strategic insights, and belief in our mission have been instrumental in guiding Voxblock to where it is today. From navigating challenges to celebrating wins, his partnership has been a cornerstone of our success.

Each member of our team has played an essential role in making this year a success, and I’m endlessly grateful for their dedication. It’s their hard work and commitment that make our mission not just possible but genuinely impactful.

Looking Ahead to 2025

As we step into 2025, I am filled with excitement for the opportunities that lie ahead. This year, we aim to build on the incredible momentum we’ve achieved and take Voxblock to new heights, guided by our mission to improve children’s literacy and inspire a lifelong love of storytelling.

Our focus will be on three key areas: expanding our reach, enhancing our offerings, and deepening our impact, all while continuing to listen to the valuable feedback of our community, which has been instrumental in shaping our journey so far.

  • Expanding Our Reach: We plan to grow our presence in schools, independent bookshops, and larger retail partners, ensuring that more children and families can experience the benefits of screen-free storytelling. Scaling into new regions and exploring international opportunities will also be a priority as we look to share our vision with an even broader audience.

  • Enhancing Our Offerings: We’ll continue to innovate by adding more diverse and exciting audiobook titles to our library, catering to a wide range of ages, interests, and needs. Following feedback from our community, we’re also exploring new ways to integrate audio and literacy, and I’m thrilled to tease that a new product is on our roadmap—a project driven by the ideas and voices of those who use and love Voxblock.

  • Deepening Our Impact: Partnerships with organisations such as the National Literacy Trust, the Scottish Book Trust and The British Wireless for the Blind Fund will remain central to our mission. By collaborating with these and other partners, we’ll ensure that our work continues to reach those who benefit most from accessible and inclusive storytelling tools.

This year will also see us investing in our people and infrastructure, empowering our talented team to thrive while ensuring that Voxblock is prepared to scale sustainably. From refining our operational processes to strengthening our commercial and marketing strategies, we are committed to building on the solid foundation we’ve created.

2025 is a year to dream big, climb higher, and make a lasting difference. I couldn’t be more excited to embark on this next chapter together, with our incredible team, partners, and community guiding our way.
