A letter from our Co-Founder, Rebecca
When we started Voxblock, it came from a very simple place.
We wanted our children to enjoy stories without screens.
We wanted listening to feel calm, intuitive and reassuring.
And we wanted choosing a story to be as natural as picking a book from a shelf.
Over time, Voxblock has grown in ways we couldn’t have imagined in those early days. What hasn’t changed is whywe do this, and that’s thanks to the families who have welcomed Voxblock into their homes, shared it with friends, and told us what really matters when it comes to children and stories.
As we look ahead to 2026, that original idea still guides everything we do.
We’re incredibly proud to be taking part in the National Year of Reading which will sit at the heart of Voxblock throughout the year. We firmly believe audio has a vital role to play in helping children become confident, engaged readers. Listening builds vocabulary, understanding and imagination, and often gives children the confidence to reach for a physical book next.
Throughout 2026, you’ll see us weaving this initiative into Voxblock in thoughtful ways. This includes expanding our audio and print bundles, making it easier for children to move naturally between listening and reading. We’ll also be bringing back our Stories for Schools competition, which was a huge success and a real highlight for us as a team. It’s an initiative that celebrates creativity while strengthening our ongoing partnership with the Scottish Book Trust, something we’re proud to continue building.
Another important focus for us is making Voxblock easier to find.
We’ve always wanted families to discover Voxblock in places that already feel connected to reading and storytelling. At the end of 2024 and into 2025, we took our first steps into retail by partnering with independent bookshops. We’re now available in 30 indie bookshops across the UK, and we’ve loved building relationships with booksellers who care deeply about stories and local communities.
In 2026, we’ll be building on this by working with more independent shops and introducing Voxblock to a carefully curated selection of larger retailers. It’s an exciting next step, and one we’re approaching thoughtfully. We can’t wait to share more as plans take shape.
Behind the scenes, 2026 is also a year of major product development.
Tom and I are just getting started on some exciting work that many of you have asked for as a feature of the player. It’s still very early days, and there’s a chance it may not launch within 2026, so I can’t say too much just yet. What I can say is that it opens up new possibilities for how we bring more audio content to families, and that’s incredibly exciting for us.
This focus does mean there will be slightly fewer new releases than usual in 2026. But don’t worry, I’ve worked twice as hard to secure some truly brilliant titles for the pipeline, including one that I’ve personally waited two years to be approved. There’s still a great calendar of stories coming your way.
As always, Voxblock continues to be shaped by its community. Built by parents and grown with families, everything we do is guided by feedback, shared values and a love of stories done well.
Thank you for being part of Voxblock’s story so far. We’re really looking forward to what 2026 brings, and to sharing it with you.
