George Bernard Shaw, who preferred to go by just his middle and surname, was an Irish literary critic and playwright born in 1856. During his career, he wrote more than 60 plays, and was well-known for being vocal about politics as well. His most well-known works are Man and Superman, Pygmalion, and Saint Joan.
