Helen Rutter is a children’s author, and former actress and comedian. The Boy Who Made Everyone Laugh is her first novel, inspired by the experiences of her son, who has a stammer. Before becoming a writer, Helen was an actress, with small parts in Coronation Street, Holby City, and more. She also performed some stand-up comedy, an experience which informed her writing of The Boy Who Made Everyone Laugh. She lives outside Sheffield with her husband, two children, and two dogs.
