Malorie Blackman is a British author and screenwriter, specialising in writing novels, short stories, and television for children.She served as children’s laureate from 2013 to 2015, and has been praised for her exploration of social and ethical issues in her writing. She has also written for TV shows, including for the long-running children’s show Byker Grove, adaptations of her own novels, and for Doctor Who, on which she was the first person of colour to work as a writer.She lives in Kent with her husband and daughter.
