Mark Twain

Mark Twain

Samuel Langhorne Clemens, better known by his pen name Mark Twain, was born in Missouri in 1835.Twain left school after the fifth grade to become a printer’s apprentice, and in 1851 began working as a typesetter and contributing humorous stories to local newspapers. He then went on to become a steamboat pilot, which gave him his pen name - “mark twain” was the cry signifying a safe depth of river water. He travelled extensively in the American West, later moving to San Francisco, before settling in Manhattan for his later years. He published The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, which drew heavily on his own childhood in Missouri, in 1876. Its sequel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, was published in 1884, and is frequently listed among the Great American Novels. Both novels are available to purchase as physical audiobooks on the Voxblock website.

My daughter loves her new voxblock and listens to the stories over and over again. Wonderful product and have already recommended to friends. Love the mini books too and the fact there's no wifi. My 6 year old daughter was able to use it directly from the box with no input from was charged and ready to go!

It’s a robust quality product. It’s simple for my 5 year old grandson to use. He loves listening to the wide range of literature available.

Voxblock has been such an amazing gift for my niece, and I love the fact it’s a never ending gift idea being able to get her new stories for her library. She really enjoys spending time listening to books and is happy to replay stories. She’s even got the animals (dog and cat) chilled out listening with her.
