The Little Prince

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, a renowned French writer and aviator, was born on 29 June 1900 in Lyon, France. He's best known for his classic children's book "The Little Prince," a magical story that explores themes of loneliness, friendship, and the beauty of the human spirit. Saint-Exupéry's life was as adventurous as his stories. He first flew in a plane when he was just 12 years old, sparking a lifelong passion for aviation.

In the 1920s and 1930s, Saint-Exupéry worked as a pilot, flying airmail routes over Africa and South America. These experiences deeply influenced his writing, evident in books like "Night Flight" and "Wind, Sand and Stars," where he eloquently combined his aviation adventures with philosophical reflections.

Sadly, Saint-Exupéry's life was cut short during World War II. While flying a reconnaissance mission for the Free French Air Force in July 1944, he disappeared over the Mediterranean Sea. His aircraft wasn't found until 1998.
